Innovative school seeking innovative afternoon teachers for our Preschool and Elementary School Extended Play (After School) program for the 2018-2019 school year beginning August 1. 2018. We believe that children learn best in a play-based environment, where teachers shape the activities and environment to best serve each child’s individual needs.
Major Roles and Responsibilities
Teachers will be responsible for developing interactive afternoon activities that keep our students engaged throughout the afternoon and supporting students with supervision and homework assistance. We believe strongly in teacher professional development and will provide opportunities for training and conferences during the school year. A salary will be offered and work hours will be 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
A degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should also have strong communication skills and be comfortable using various forms of technology. Salary range is dependent upon degree and years of work experience. Preferred candidates will also have experience with NAEYC standards and criteria.

Mount Vernon Presbyterian School serves 940 students in Preschool through grade 12. Established in 1972, the School has two campuses. The Founders Campus encompasses the Early Learning Center, the Preschool, the Lower School (grades K-4), and half of the Middle School (grades 5-6). Grades 7-8 round out the Middle School on the Glenn Campus, which is also the home of the Upper School (grades 9-12). Mount Vernon is located in the heart of Sandy Springs, Georgia, within the metropolitan Atlanta area.
